toughness | Each leg of the cotter pin should be able to withstand repeated bending without breaking or cracking in the bent portion. | Each leg of the cotter pin should be able to withstand repeated bending without breaking or cracking in the bent portion. |
Bending method: Pull the cotter pin apart, clamp any straight leg part of it in the inspection die (no flattening should occur), then bend the cotter pin 90°, one round trip is one bend. The test speed should not exceed 60 times/min. The inspection die should be made with a semicircular slot hole, the diameter of which is equal to the nominal specification of the cotter pin, and the jaws should have a fillet of r=0.5mm. | Bending method: Pull the cotter pin apart, clamp any straight leg part of it in the inspection die (no flattening should occur), then bend the cotter pin 90°, one round trip is one bend.
